Electrocardiogram Testing (ECG)

What is an Electrocardiogram or 12-lead ECG?

ECG is a graphical representation of the electrical activity of your heart and is performed by a doctor, nurse, or a cardiac technologist.
ECG is performed by attaching sticky electrodes to the surface of your body in spots on your chest as well as your arms and legs. Leads are then attached to the electrodes, which conduct electrical signals from your heart to the ECG machine, which prints a graph for medical analysis.
ECG is a painless and quick medical examination with no known risks associated with it.
ECG can be performed as a single test, in a group of several tests or as a part of your cardiac consultation.
